Saco is a scenic New England town located in York County, Maine. It is the twin city to Biddeford. The two towns are separated by islands in the Saco River. The two towns include ten miles of frontage along the Saco River, and ten miles of shoreline along the Atlantic.

Saco is home to beaches, forests, approximately 100 acres of parks, including the Ferry Beach State Park. Several acres of red brick mill buildings are located in Saco. These buildings once housed industries which employed thousands of workers.

First Parish Congregational Church – An Italianate and Romanesque style church located on Main Street.

Way Way General Store – An early twentieth century road house and store, located on Buxton Road.
Jacobs Houses and Store – Federal period buildings consisting of wood framed houses and a three story commercial block, located on Elm Street.
A.B. Seavey House – A Queen Anne style house located on Temple Street.
Saco High School – A Grand Victorian Gothic building located on Spring Street.
Thacher Goodale House – A Greek Revival style house located on North Street.
Grant Farm – A Saco Valley farm house located on Grant Road.

According to the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau, Saco, Maine was home to 18,482 residents.

As of the census of 2000 there were 6,801 households and 4,590 families. The average family size was 2.93 and the average household size was 2.44.
