Italianate style homes became popular in Royalton after the Civil War. Examples include the Curtiss-Hastings House built in 1869 and the Denison-Davidson House built in 1870.

Queen Anne style homes and properties include the Queen Anne business block, the Railroad Station, the Bandstand, the Schoolhouse at Vermont Law School, the Catholic Church, the Martin-Crawford Castle, the Abbott House and the Marvin Hazen-Gadway House.
