Pittsfield is the easternmost town in Merrimack County. Incorporated in 1782, the town encompasses just
over 24 Sq. Mi., and is now home to about 4500 residents. Pittsfield is equidistant (16 MI.) between Concord,
New Hampshire’s capital city, and Alton Bay, one of the gateway towns to NH’s famed Lake Winnepesaukee region. State and federal highways offer convenient access to Manchester (26 mi.) to the south and Rochester (23 mi.) and Portsmouth and the Seacoast (37 mi.) to the east, so the town is well situated to take advantage of the diverse employment and recreational opportunities available in the region.
