Incorporated
in 1750, Salem was originally part of Haverill and Methuen, Mass. With
I-93 and Rte. 28 both running through the community, Salem is midway between
two
state capitals. Boston to the south and Concord to the north. The advantageous
location provides easy access to both Logan and Manchester airports. Additionally,
residents can be at the seacoast in less than an hour, or in the state’s
famous White Mountains and the many magnificent lakes in that region in little
more than an hour. In addition to its access to many vistas, Salem offers
quiet neighborhoods, recreation activities, tax-free shopping and a diverse
business base, which has made the town a magnet for many who have decided
to make New Hampshire their home.
