Bernardstron is a small New England town located in Franklin County, on the northern end of Massachusetts, bordering Vermont.  It is situated in the Pioneer Valley and is in the 01337 zip code.  The town was settled in 1738 and was named after Governor Francis Bernard.

Bernardston’s town center is home to different examples of original 18th, 19th and 20th century architecture, including churches and commercial buildings.  One of the most notable buildings is Forte Connable, which is one of the last remaining fortified houses from the 18th century.

As of the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Bernardston was home to 2,155 residents.  This included 848 households and 603 families.  Bernardston Massachusetts is comprised of 23.4 square miles of land.
