Biddeford is a scenic New England city, located in York County, Maine.  It is the largest city in York County and the 6th largest in Maine.  It is a twin city to Saco, Maine.

Biddeford includes several miles of frontage along the Saco River, and several miles of shoreline along the Atlantic.  Located along the Atlantic coastline are the neighborhoods of Biddeford Pool, Fortunes Rock, Granite Point and Hills Beach. 

Biddeford is home to the annual La Kermesse Franco-Americaine Festival and the University of New England.  Biddeford’s historic downtown houses the McArthur Library and the City Theatre for the Performing Arts.  Biddeford is home to acres of red brick mill buildings, which once housed industries that employed thousands of workers.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Biddeford was home to 20,942 residents.  This included 8,636 households and 5,259 families.  The average family size was 2.88 and the average household size was 2.32.
