Brunswick is a scenic New England town located in Cumberland County on the coast of Maine.  It is 22 miles from Portland.  The town was settled in 1628 and incorporated in 1738.  It is named after the House of Brunswick, the German royal dynasty.

Brunswick is home to several historic districts.  These districts include mansions that represent various architectural styles.  Brunswick’s historic properties include the Bowdoin College, the Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum and the Skolfied-Whittier House. 

Brunswick is home to the Naval Air Station, Brunswick and Bowdoin College.  It is also home to Lishness Park, Pickard Field and Edwards Field. 

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Brunswick was home to 21,172 residents.  This included 8,150 households and 5,150 families.
