Chebeague Island Real Estate

Chebeague Island is located in Casco Bay off Portland in Cumberland County, Maine.  It is known as “Great Chebeague”.   It is ten miles from Portland and is comprised of seventeen islands. 

Two ferry services provide transportation to the island. The Chebeague Transportation Company (CTC) makes the 15 minute run from Cousins Island, which in turn is connected by bridge to Yarmouth. Casco Bay Lines also provides service on all mail-boat and other "down-bay" trips that travel beyond Long Island.

As of the 2010 census, the town had a population of 341.

Great Chebeague is the largest island in the town.  It is home to marine construction, fishing and farming. 

While the islands of Great Chebeague and Hope are inhabited year-round, most of the islands are home to only seasonal homes and residents.
