Cornish is located in York County, Maine. It is part of the Portland-South, Portland-Biddeford, Maine metropolitan statistical area. Cornish is bordered on the north by Hiram, to the northeast by Baldwin, to the east by Limington, to the south by Limerick and to the west by Parsonsfield.

Cornish is known for its historic architecture and antique shops.  Many Colonial and Victorian homes were built along Main Street and Maple Street, and in the 1850’s many homes were moved by oxen from the old town center on High Road to today’s town center.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Cornish Maine was home to 1,269 residents.  This included 521 households and 340 families.  The average family size was 3 and the average household size was 2.43.
