The town of Cumberland is located in Cumberland County, Maine.  It is situated ten miles north of Portland and 108 miles north of Boston.   Cumberland was incorporated in 1821 was named in honor of the Duke of Cumberland.  

Cumberland is home to several working farms including Spring Brook Farms, Double T Orchards and Sweetser’s Apple Barrel and Orchards.  It is also home to the annual Cumberland Fair, one of the largest agricultural fairs in the state.  

Cumberland was home to 7,159 residents according to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau.  This included 2,548 households and 2,046 families.

Cumberland Homes and Real Estate:  In 2000, there were 2,945 Cumberland homes and an average of 113 homes per square mile.  Nine percent of Cumberland homes are occupied by renters.
