Dayton is one of the smallest towns located in York County, Maine. It is bordered by Lyman, Hollis, Buxton, Biddeford and Saco.
The Great Fires of 1947 destroyed two-thirds of the town. This included the town hall, 27 homes and four barns. Dayton was once comprised of dairy farms, but is now primarily residential.
