Frenchboro is a town in Hancock County, Maine, United States, and a village within this town located on Long Island in Blue Hill Bay - an island distinct from the island town of Long Island in Cumberland County.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 94.6 square miles (245 km2), of which, 4.8 square miles (12 km2) of it is land and 89.7 square miles (232 km2) of it (94.90%) is water.
Twelve islands in the Gulf of Maine comprise the town; Black Island, Crow Island, Little Duck Island, Great Duck Island, Drum Island, Little Green Island, Outer Green Island, Harbor Island, Mount Desert Rock, Placentia Island and Pond Island.
As of the 2000 census, there were 38 people, 18 households, and 12 families residing in the town. The population density was 7.9 people per square mile. There were 59 housing units at an average density of 12.3 per square mile.
