Frenchville is a town in Aroostook County, Maine, United States.
About 80 percent of the population are habitual speakers of French, aided by its proximity to French-speaking Quebec and New Brunswick in Canada.
The town is home to the general aviation airport Northern Aroostook Regional Airport, Frenchville Railroad Station and Water Tank, and Corriveau Mill.
According to the US census, the town has a total area of 29.2 square miles, of which, 28.6 square miles is land and 0.6 square miles (2.19%) is water. The town lies on the south bank of the Saint John River, which forms the international boundary between Maine and New Brunswick, Canada.
As of the 2000 census, there were 1,225 people, 478 households, and 356 families residing in the town. The population density was 42.9 people per square mile. There were 512 housing units at an average density of 17.9 per square mile.
