Glenburn is a town in Penobscot County. Maine, United States. It was called "Dutton" until it was incorporated as the town of Glenburn in 1837. According to the US census, the town has a total area of 29.3 square miles, of which, 27.2 square miles is land and 2.1 square miles (7.23%) is water. The two historic centers are the villages of Glenburn and West Glenburn. As of the 2010 census, there were 4,594 people residing in the town, and according to the 2000 census there were 1,479 households, and 1,137 families residing in the town. The population density was 145.8 people per square mile. There were 1,683 housing units at an average density of 61.9 per square mile.
