Lebanon is located in York County, Maine.  It was settled in 1743 and incorporated in 1787.  It is a rapidly growing rural commuter town.

Lebanon includes Center Lebanon, North Lebanon, West Lebanon, East Lebanon and South Lebanon.    It is bordered by Acton on the north, Sanford on the east, Milton and Rochester to the west, and Berwick and North Berwick to the southeast. 

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Lebanon was home to 5,083 residents.  This included 1,823 households and 1,405 families.  The average family size was 3.10 and the average household size was 2.79.
