Limington is located in York County, Maine.  It is just 23 miles west of Portland, Maine, and 96 miles north of Boston. 

Limington is located in York County in Southern Maine, less than a hour's drive west from downtown Portland and less than a three hours drive from Boston.  It is bordered to the north by Baldwin, to the east by Standish, to the west by Limerick and Cornish, and to the south by Hollis and Waterboro.

The town center is comprised of historic architecture with 22 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Limington was established in 1792 and many homes and buildings in Limington’s historical district date back to that time.

Limington includes seven ponds.  Boyd, Dole, Foss and South ponds are located in South Limington.  Horn, Ward and Webster ponds are located in North Limington. 

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Limington was home to 3,403 residents.  This included 1,141 households and 893 families.  The average family size was 3.15 and the average household size was 2.84.
