Mount Vernon is a town in Kennebec County, Maine, United States. Mount Vernon was incorporated on June 28, 1792, and was named for George Washington's Virginia estate. According to the US census, the town has a total area of 43.4 square miles, of which, 37.9 square miles is land and 5.6 square miles (12.78%) is water.
