North Berwick is located in York County, Maine.   It is 34 miles from Portland, Maine and 67 miles from Boston.

North Berwick was settled in 1693 by John Morrell, who had built a log cabin on Wells Street.  It was incorporated as North Berwick in 1831. 

North Berwick is home to Maine’s oldest family-owned business, the Hussey Seating Company.  It is also home to another major employer, a Pratt & Whitney aircraft engine parts company.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, North Berwick was home to 4,293 residents.  This included 1,587 households and 1,777 families.  The average family size was 3.07 and the average household size was 2.67.
