Old Orchard Beach is located in York County, Maine. It is situated at Saco Bay on the Atlantic Ocean and is the twin city of the seaside resort of Mimizan. Old Orchard Beach has been a popular summer beach destination since 1631. It is home to the amusement park, Palace Playland. It is also home to many businesses that cater to tourists, such as clam shacks and souvenir stores. The Ocean Front Hotel and Motel, dating back to 1895 is still located on Grand Avenue. Most of the town’s other large hotels were devastated by fire in 1907.
