Westbrook is located in Cumberland County, Maine.  The town was named Westbrook after Colonel Thomas Westbrook who was a commander in Dummer’s War.

Nearby attractions include the Westbrook Plaza Shopping Center, Cumberland Mills Historic District, Children’s Museum of Maine, River Meadow Golf Course and Smiling Hill Farm.  The town also hosts the annual Westbrook Art Festival.

Westbrook is home to several neighborhoods.  They include Birdland, Cumberland Mills, Deer Hill, Frenchtown, The Hamlet, Pride's Corner, Old Millbrook, Westbrook Pointe, Woodland, Colonial Village and Highland Lake.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Westbrook was home to 16,142 residents.  This included 6,863 households and 4,261 families.
