Andover Real Estate

Andover is located in the foothills of Mount Kearsarge and Ragged Mountain, in Merrimack County, New Hampshire.  It is home to Ragged Mountain State Forest, several great ponds, two lakes and the Blackwater River.  It includes the villages of Potter Place, Cilleyville, West Andover, and East Andover.

Andover is home to Proctor Academy, which was founded in 1828.  It is also home to Potter Place Railroad station, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and now serves as a museum.   

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Andover was home to 2,109 residents.  This included 823 households and 609 families.  Andover is comprised of 40.5 square miles of land and 0.9 square miles of water.  

Andover Real Estate and Homes:  In 2000, there were 1,038 homes and an average of 26 homes (houses / condos) per square mile.  In 2007, it was estimated that real estate in Andover, New Hampshire was comprised of a total of 1,136 homes.  This included 970 single family homes and 78 multi-unit homes.  26% of homes in Andover are occupied by renters.
