Brentwood is located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. It is a rural town located only twenty minutes from the New Hampshire seacoast. It is a short drive from the Maine coastline, Portsmouth New Hampshire and Boston Massachusetts. Brentwood is home to the new Rockingham County Botanical Garden. This new 10-acre botanical garden is located at 113B North Road and was formed by the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners in Rockingham County. The town was founded in 1638 and was part of Exeter. Brentwood was once farmland with an abundance of potato and pheasant farms. The town is now mostly residential, and although the farms have now been replaced by houses, Brentwood has maintained its rural character. According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Brentwood’s population at the time was 3,197 people. This included 911 households, 777 families and 920 homes. The average family size was 3.22 and the average household size was 2.99. Brentwood is comprised of 16.8 square miles of land and .2 square miles of water. Brentwood Real Estate and Homes: In 2007, it was estimated that Brentwood’s real estate was comprised of 1,280 total homes. This included 1,119 single family homes and 108 multi-unit homes. |
