Claremont is located in Sullivan County, New Hampshire.  The town is named for Claremont, an English Castle. 

Claremont includes a city center along the Sugar River.  Many mill buildings are located in this area.  The town also includes a commercial district, Washington Street, which is the location of the town square and City Hall.

Claremont is home to a branch of Granite State Collect, a bran of the River Valley Community College.  It is also home to the Valley Regional Hospital.
According to the 2010 U.S. Census Bureau, Claremont was home to 13,55 residents.  This included 5,685 households and 3,428 families.
