Hopkinton Real Estate

Hopkinton is located in Merrimack County, New Hampshire and includes the villages of Hopkinton, West Hopkinton and Contoocook.  All three villages are part of the same school district and share the same zip code.  The town is situated 23 miles from Manchester and 72 miles from Boston.

Hopkinton was granted in 1735 and incorporated in 1765.  It was once the state capital.   It is home to the oldest covered bridge railroad in the country.  It is also home to the annual Hopkinton State Fair during the Labor Day weekend.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Hopkinton was home to 5,399 residents.  This included 2,084 households and 1,544 families.  The average family size was 3.01 and the average household size was 2.29.
