Kingston Real Estate

Kingston is located in Rockingham County, in the southeast corner of New Hampshire.  It is bounded on the north by Brentwood, on the northeast by Exeter, on the south by Plaistow, on the east by Kingston, and on the west by Atkinson and Danville.  It is about five 5 miles north of Massachusetts. 

The town was one home to Dr. Josiah Bartlett, who was one of the first signers of the Declaration of Independence.  His home was burned to the ground in 1776, after the “Tories” learned that he had signed the Declaration of Independence.  He rebuilt his house, which is still occupied today by his descendants. 
 
Recreational opportunities in Kingston include fishing, boating, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Kingston’s population at the time was 5,862 people.  This included 2,122 households and 1,633 families.  The average family size was 3.13 and the average household size was 2.76.  Kingston is comprised of 19.9 square miles of land and 1.2 square miles of water.  The town is mostly drained by the Powwow River, and portion on the northern end is drained by the Little River.

Kingston Real Estate and Homes:  In 2000, there were 2,265 homes in Kingston and an average of 115 homes (houses / condos) per square mile.  In 2007, it was estimated that real estate in Kingston was comprised of a total of 2,488 homes.  This included 1,935 single family houses and 413 multi-unit homes.
