Marlborough is located in Cheshire County, New Hampshire.  The town boasts beautiful country hills and views of Mount Monadnock, making it a popular summer vacation spot. 

Marlborough is home to the Frost Free Library, the Kensan-Devan Wildlife Sanctuary at Meetinghouse Pond, the Old Meeting House site and Cemetery and Webb Granite Quarry.  It is also home to the Maynard-Gates House, a property which is listed on the New Hampshire Register of Historic Places.

Marlborough was first names Oxford, and then New Marlborough.  It was incorporated as Marlborough in 1776.  The town once was once home to a large granite industry.  Quarries in Marlborough provided stone that was used at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, at the Frost Free Library and buildings in Boston.  Manufacturing of toys and wooden-ware were also once part of Marlborough’s industry.

Marlborough is comprised of 20.4 square miles of land and .2 square miles of water. According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Marlborough’s population consisted of 2,009 people, 829 households, and 565 families.
