Mont Vernon Real Estate

Mont Vernon small village situated on top of a hill, located in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire.  It offers beautiful panoramic views on the New Hampshire countryside.  Mon Vernon is 18 miles from Manchester and 59 miles from Boston, and is a bedroom community to the town of Nashua.  It is named after George Washington’s home, Mount Vernon.

Mont Vernon was well-known for being home to many summer hotels.  They included the Grand Hotel, the Bellevue, Hillsborough House and Mont Vernon House.  It was also home to a boarding houses and a dance pavilion.

The town’s Main Street is lined with beautiful Federal and Victorian style houses.  Distinctive new homes are found in the outskirts of town, and are occupied by professionals who work in neighboring cities.

Mont Vernon is home to the former Lamson property, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The property is now being developed into a recreational park.   Mont Vernon is home to three conservation sites, Herlihy Swamp, Carleton Park and Horton Pond. 

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Mont Vernon’s population at the time was 2,034 people.  This included 693 households and 575 families.  The average family size was 3.17 and the average household size was 2.90.
