Newton Real Estate

Newton is located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire.  It was incorporated as New Town in 1749 and was renamed Newton in 1846.  Newtwon was originally part of South Hampton.

Newton is home to the Marshall House and the Historical Museum (Newtown Historical Society).  Newtown offers many outdoor  recreational opportunities include camping, fishing, boating, bicycling, and cross-country skiing.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Newton’s population at the time was 4,289 people.  This included 1,518 households and 1,170 families.  The average family size was 3.19 and the average household size was 2,83.  Newton is comprised of 9.9 square miles of land and 0.2 square miles of water.  The summit of  Brandy Brow Hill in the southern corner of town, is the highest point Newton, at 289 feet above sea level. 

Newton Real Estate and Homes:  In 2000, there were 1,552 homes in Newton and an average of 157 homes (houses / condos) per square mile.  By 2007, it was estimated that real estate in Newton was comprised of a total of 1,705 homes.  This included 1,452 single-family houses and 218 multi-unit homes.
