Pembroke Real Estate

Pembroke is located in Merrimack County, New Hampshire.  It includes part of the village of Suncook.  It is situated 13 miles from Manchester, and 63 miles from Boston.

Pembroke offers residents many outdoor recreational opportunities.  Playing fields, a playground, basketball courts, volleyball courts, a pavilion, an exercise course and a boat launch are all located at Memorial Field along the Merrimack River.

The many mills in Pembroke’s downtown area reflect the town’s early history.  The mills used water power from the Suncook River.  Pembroke was home to Pembroke Mills, Webster Manufacturing and China Manufacturing.

Pembroke is home to four public schools; Village School for kindergarten – 1st grade, Hill School for 2nd – 4th grade, Three Rivers School for 5th – 8th grade and Pembroke Academy for high school students.  Students from the neighboring towns of Allenstown, Chichester, Deerfield and Epsom also attend Pembroke’s schools. 

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Pembroke was home to 6,897 residents.  This included 2,661 households and 1,867 families.  The average family size was 3.06 and the average household size was 2.59.  Pembroke is comprised of 22.8 square miles of land and 0.2 square miles of water.  

Pembroke Real Estate and Homes:  In 2000, there were 2,734 homes and an average of 120 homes (houses / condos) per square mile.  In 2007, it was estimated that real estate in Pembroke, New Hampshire was comprised of a total of 2,993 homes.  This included 1,785 single family homes and 1,062 multi-unit homes.  32% of homes in Pembroke are occupied by renters.
