Plymouth, NH is a town in Grafton County, New Hampshire, in the White Mountains Region. Plymouth is located at the heart of New Hampshire, between the scenic Lakes Region and the White Mountain National Forest. As of the 2000 census, the population was 6,990. The town, which places a high premium on education, is home to Plymouth State University and Plymouth Regional High School. Plymouth also offer's it's own critical access hospital, Speare Memorial Hospital.

Downtown Plymouth is a classic New Hampshire town, complete with a town common, post office, town hall and library all within walking distance. Downtown is a great place to shop, eat and mingle. The downtown, as well as the surrounding areas, offer fine shopping,dining establishments and more.

According to the US Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 28.7 square miles, of which 28.1 square miles is land and 0.6 square miles of it is water, comprising 2.00% of the town.

As of the 2000 census, there were 5,892 people, 1,678 households, and 941 families residing in the town. The population density was 207.5 people per square mile. There were 1,901 housing units at an average density of 25.9 persons/67.0 persons/sq mi.
