Richmond Real Estate

Richmond is located in Cheshire County, in the southwest corner of New Hampshire.  Richmond is bordered to the north by Swanzey, New Hampshire, to the northeast by Troy, New Hampshire, to the east by Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire, to the south by Royalston, Massachusetts, to the southwest by Warwick, Massachusetts, and to the west by Winchester, New Hampshire.  It is forty miles from Nashua and 67 miles from Boston.

Richmond was incorporated in 1752, and was named after Charles Lennox, the Duke of Richmond, and a friend of Benning Wentworth who was Richmond’s governor at the time.   The town is comprised of 37.6 square miles of land and .2 square miles of water.  It is less than a mile from Little Mondanock Mountain in the neighboring town of Fitzwilliam.  Richmond is home to the Franconia Mountain Range. 

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Richmond’s population at the time consisted of 1,077 people, 285 families, and 379 households.  The average family size was 3.22 and the average household size was 2.82.

Richmond Real Estate and Properties:  In 2007, it was estimated that real estate in Richmond was comprised of 479 total homes.  This included 438 single family houses and 13 multi-family homes.
