Known as the Lilac City, Rochester is located in Strafford County, New Hampshire.  It is the largest city in New Hampshire's Seacoast region and includes the villages of Gonic and East Rochester.

Rochester is comprised of more than 46 square miles of rolling hills and rivers.  This includes 45.2 square miles of land and 0.6 square miles of water.  As of the 2000 U.S. Census, Rochester had a population of 28,461 people.  This included 11,434 households and 7,649 families.  The average family size was 2.95 and the average household size was 2.46.  The estimated population for 2007 was 30,823.

Rochester Homes and Real Estate:  In 2007, it was estimated that Alstead’s population was 30,527.  Rochester real estate was comprised of 13,394 total homes.  This included 6,457 single family houses and 4,353 multi-family homes.
