Stratham Real Estate

Stratham is a New England town located in Rockingham Count, New Hampshire.   It is 32 miles from Manchester, 54 miles from Boston and 68 miles from Portland.  The Squamscott River borders to the town to the west.

Stratham is home to the U.S. Lindt and Sprungli factory, the New Hampshire Community Technical Collegess, Stratham Memorial and the headquarters of the Timberland Corporation.  Located in nearby Greenland is The Sandy Point Discovery Center. Habitats, wetlands, salt marsh and mudflats are all accessible via a boardwalk and trail. 

Stratham hosts the annual Stratham Fair, held every summer at Stratham Hill Park.  Thousands of visitors are attracted to the fair for its pageant, midway, food and fireworks
The town was settled in 1631.  It was incorporated in 1716 and was named after Baron Howland of Streatham.   Baron Howland was a friend of the Massachusetts governor, Samuel Shute, at that time.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Stratham’s population at the time was 6,355 people.  This included 2,306 households and 1,743 families.  The average family size was 3.18 and the average household size was 2.76.  Stratham is comprised of 15.1 square miles of land and 0.4 square miles of water. 

Stratham Real Estate and Homes:  In 2000, there were 2,371 homes and an average of 157 homes (houses / condos) per square mile.  In 2007, it was estimated that real estate in Stratham was comprised of a total of 2,806 homes.  This included 2,069 single family houses and 724 multi-unit homes.
