Webster is located in Merrimack County, New Hampshire.  It was incorporated in 1860.  It is situated 33 miles from Manchester and 84 miles from Boston.

Webster is home to many historic homes.  88 homes were built prior to 1900, 41 homes were built prior to 1800 and two were built prior to 1750.  Included in these historic homes is the 1800 former home of Reverend Edward Buxton, located on Potash Road.   Webster is also home to two buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places; the Webster Congregational Church and the Old Webster Meeting House. 

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Webster was home to 1,579 residents.  This included 581 households and 464 families.  The average family size was 299 and the average household size was 271.  Webster is comprised of 27.9 square miles of land and 0.7 square miles of water.
