As of 2000, Vermont was home to 608,827 residents. In 2000, there were 294,382 Vermont homes. Of those homes, 169,784 were owner-occupied. There were also 53,748 Vermont vacation homes in 2000. The estimated number of Vermont homes in 2006 was 309,557.
