Dover is located in Windham County, Vermont, in the center of Southern Vermont.  Dover is has been a tourist attraction since the early 1900’s, when many summer homes on Handle Road and Cooper Hill.  Today, Dover is home to many lodges, motels, vacation homes, restaurants and stores.

Dover is home to the Grand Summit Hotel and Conference Center.  The town’s elevations reach over 2,500 feet.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Dover was home to 1,410 residents.  This included 611 households and 372 families.  The average family size was 2.86 and the average household size was 2.61.
