Wardsboro is located in Windham County, Vermont.  It includes the villages of Wardsboro Center, West Wardsboro and South Wardsboro.  It is crossed by Vermont Route 100.

Wardsboro is set in the Green Mountains, and most of the town is included in the Green Mountain National Forest.  It is near both the Mount Snow ski area and the Stratton ski area.  It is also near Somerset Reservoir and Grout Pond.  Wardsboro is home to several planned communities, such as Snow Mountain Farms.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Wardsboro was home to 854 residents.  This included 358 households and 234 families.  The average family size was 2.91 and the average household size was 2.39.  Wardsboro, Vermont is comprised of 29.3 square miles of land.
