Whitingham is located in Windham County, New Hampshire and includes the villages of the Jacksonville and Whitingham.  The town’s natural beauty consists of rolling hills, flowing rivers, lakes, creeks and a pastoral setting.  Whitingham’s main thoroughfare, Vermont Route 100 is noted as one of the ten most scenic highways in the country by National Geographic.

Whitingham is home to Lake Whitingham, the largest lake entirely within the state of Vermont.  The lake provides opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming and picnicking.  The town is also home to Sadawga Pond, which offers canoeing, fishing and wildlife. 

Whitingham is the birthplace of home Brigham Young, the early leader of the Latter Day Saints.  It is also home to the headquarters of the North Altantic Conference.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Whitingham was home to 1,298 residents.  This included 515 households and 371 families.  The average family size was 2.94 and the average household size was 2.52.  Whitingham, Vermont is comprised of 37.1 square miles of land and 2.2 square miles of water.
