Whitingham is the birthplace of home Brigham Young, the early leader of the Latter Day Saints.  It is also home to the headquarters of the North Altantic Conference.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Whitingham was home to 1,298 residents.  This included 515 households and 371 families.  The average family size was 2.94 and the average household size was 2.52.  Whitingham, Vermont is comprised of 37.1 square miles of land and 2.2 square miles of water.
