Only once in a while does a special property like this one come on the market. Beautifully and meticulously restored, with the perfect blend of old and new, this historic 1828 farmhouse with sixty acres of open fields and woods would make the perfect country home or small farm. The property also boasts two beautiful post-and-beam barns (one old, one new) and a separate garage/workshop. It is located in Unity, one the most desirable communities in Central Maine, which boasts a small college and an active performing arts center, and is home to the world-famous Common Ground Country Fair. The property enjoys many special features, but the two standouts are the masterfully-restored antique farmhouse and a large, extraordinary, newly-built 34'x64' post and beam barn. Both are truly impressive. The barn will accommodate a 30' sailboat, horses, a business, and/or storage of all things. The home underwent extensive renovations between 2012-14 including sills, siding, insulation, windows, floors, doors, walls, woodwork, roofing, plumbing, and electrical. Many comforts and those special moments of personal joy are found in many ways here: On the porch watching the sun set in the warm summer breeze, striking out on the trail on XC skis, hanging a large wreath on your quintessential front door, nurturing a kitchen garden, tending to the chickens, touching up your boat sheltered in the barn, a game of barn basketball, choosing a book from the shelves and cozying up in the window seat, having spacious rooms to host your company in, a walk through the hay field, and admiring the towering burr oaks. This is the kind of Maine property that many people dream of owning
